Amex Tarneit Landholding Will Be Included Within the UGB During 2010

In December 2008, the Victorian Government released two integrated policy statements, - Melbourne @ 5 million and The Victorian Transport Plan. These documents outlined the vision and long term plan for managing Melbourne's future growth including the fact that around 284,000 of the new homes required over the next 20 years, will need to be built in the growth areas of Casey-Cardinia, Melton-Caroline Springs, Hume-Mitchell-Whittlesea and Wyndham. In response, the Victorian Government has proposed to shift the Urban Growth Boundary (UGB) to ensure there is a sufficient supply of land to accommodate projected the population growth and maintain housing affordability. As a result of this initiative, the Amex Tarneit landholding will be included within the UGB during 2010.
